About the programme

Making Wood Work has now ended. Making Wood Work was a ten week programme to help people make progress towards employment, training or volunteering. It was made up of real work experience in our furniture making workshop, training in wood recycling and employability support.
It took place in our South Street workshop on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 9am – 4pm and Friday 9am – 12pm

Benjamin came as a trainee on our Making Wood Work programme in May 2015. Before that, he hadn’t had paid work since 2001. Now Benjamin has a full-time job with a food processing company in Cambuslang.

Peter joined Making Wood Work in February 2015. His determination to get back into ‘work mode’ has led to him gaining confidence in his abilities and finding paid employment.
